BUSINESS POLICIES

RESERVATIONS
We strongly believe that your time is valuable.  We strive to be prepared for your appointment, ensuring an extraordinary, individualized experience for our guests.  All services are provided by appointment only.  To ensure your desired appointment availability, we suggest scheduling regular appointments.  Our guests discover the value and health benefits of regular appointments for their overall well-being, so scheduling ahead is recommended.

SCOPE OF PRACTICE
Massage Remedy therapists are licensed and adhere to the Scope of Practice for Licensed Massage Therapists, established by the Tennessee Massage Licensure Board.  Massage Therapists do not diagnose medical conditions but may refer guests to other medical professionals for diagnosis or treatment.  Our services are not intended as an alternative for proper medical attention or care.  Please consult with your medical professional for your medical needs.  If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please seek immediate emergency care at the nearest emergency or urgent care facility.

CHECK-IN
To fully understand the difference Massage Remedy offers, we suggest arriving for your appointment 10 minutes before your scheduled starting time.  Each massage session has a specific time scheduled, and early arrival allows you to enjoy our complimentary aromatherapy and heated neck wraps in a relaxed and unhurried experience.

NO SHOW POLICY
At Massage Remedy, we understand that unanticipated events occur in everyone’s life.  Unforeseen events such as car problems, business meetings, and children’s illnesses are just a few reasons one might consider canceling a massage appointment.  However, we ask that you call and cancel if you cannot keep your appointment.  Clients who miss their appointments without prior notification may be charged for the scheduled service.

LATE ARRIVALS
If late arrival is inevitable, we kindly request that you call and notify us that you are running behind.  Arriving late may mean that your service will be shortened in consideration of the next guest, however, the original service fee will be charged.  When arriving late, the time you arrive determines the length of the treatment.  Thank you for understanding.

CANCELLATION POLICY
We understand that unanticipated events occasionally happen in everyone’s life.  In our desire to be respectful and fair to both guests and therapists, we require 24-hour advance notice when canceling an appointment.  This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment.  If you are unable to give us 24-hours notice, you may be charged the full amount of your appointment.  This amount must be paid before scheduling your next appointment.

CLIENT PAYMENTS
To make it as convenient as possible for our guests, we accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.  Full payment is due at the time of service.

SERVICES REFUND POLICY
From hiring the most talented, professional, licensed massage therapists to critically evaluating each service and product we offer, we do everything conceivable to ensure our guest’s experience is extraordinary.  We understand that not every guest will enjoy every service or therapist.  Unfortunately, due to the nature of our business, once the service has been consumed, we do not offer refunds.  All sales for massage services are final.

INFORMED CONSENT
Massage Remedy is highly concerned with our guests’ health, safety, and satisfaction.  We require our therapists to complete a brief evaluation of your current health status and review the desired outcomes and the treatment plan for the massage session.  It is the guest’s responsibility to keep their therapists informed of any changes in their health condition, medications, or medical treatments.

DRAPING
Massage Remedy requires all guests to be properly draped according to the established tuck and fold procedure.   Providing safe, respectful touch by using careful, modest draping is extremely important.  The therapist will only undrape the portion of your body being massaged.  Guests may not request a massage without a drape.

TREATMENT OF MINORS
Massage Remedy believes everyone benefits from regular massage.  We provide massage services for minors.  A parent or guardian must co-sign the consent form with all minors.  We require minors age 15 and under to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  A parent or guardian must be present in the treatment room for the duration of the massage service.  If the minor is age 16 or older, the parent must be on the property but is not required to be in the treatment room.

GRATUITY
Gratuities are customary in the massage profession but are at the guest’s discretion.   Gratuities are never expected but always appreciated.  If you have received exceptional service and would like to show your appreciation to your therapist, the average gratuity ranges between 20-35%.  From the therapist’s perspective, it is always nice to receive the compliment of a “thank you for good service” gratuity.  If paying with a credit card or check, the tip can be added to the total.

CHILDREN
Because we are concerned about the needs of each guest, we design individualized sessions intended to create unique and relaxing experiences.  To provide a quiet and peaceful environment for all guests, children are not allowed in the treatment rooms or retreat areas under any circumstance unless they are receiving massage services.  We kindly suggest that you anticipate your childcare needs before scheduling your appointment.

CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES
Massage Remedy guests may not be under the influence of any chemical substance (alcohol or illicit drugs) not prescribed by a physician.  Please notify your therapist if you are on prescription pain management medications so that the pressure can be adjusted to provide safe and effective treatment.

QUIET ZONES
In consideration of our guests and to create a tranquil and relaxing environment, we ask guests to keep their voices low in the treatment rooms and retreat area.  We require mobile telephones to be placed on silent or be turned off when entering the center.  If you must take a phone call, you must do so outside the building.  Thank you for being so considerate.

LOST PROPERTY
We request that all jewelry be removed before your session.  For this reason, we strongly recommend leaving your jewelry at home.  We are not responsible for the loss or damage to any personal property.  Please be mindful not to leave your personal property behind if you take them into the treatment room.

PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES
Massage Remedy is deeply committed to promoting a safe environment for our guests and therapists.  Inappropriate conduct such as suggestive comments, sexual innuendo, physically touching a therapist, or other inappropriate behavior shall result in the immediate termination of the massage session and the guest being permanently ineligible for future services.  Any requests  for sexual gratification will be viewed as criminal solicitation and immediately reported to the proper authorities
